My Nana gave me the nickname of "Princess" when I was very little. I have always liked it. You see my older sister has always been the "queen of everything." Anything she puts her mind to, she can master. She will always be the best at everything she does, or just not do it at all. But I, on the other hand, have always been quite content to be the "princess of quite a lot." I know not everything is in my reach and that I will most likely be mediocre at many things that I do. My Nana past away 4 1/2 years ago, but I still like to think of myself as Nana's little princess. She meant quite a lot to me and I know that were she alive to see me today, she would be incredibly proud. I take pieces of her with me where ever I go. Last weekend I made sure to bring her scarf with me to my audition in D.C. I wanted a memento to remind me that I could never be a failure in the eyes of my Nana. If she thought I was a princess then I have to live up to the name.
My heart is full as I read of your memories and endearment of Nana. She loved you so much! I loved her pet names and I think she picked them perfectly!

So true my sweet Natalie... She would be incredibly proud. I love knowing, that like me, you take a piece of Nana with you when you travel, and through your life. She is with us in so many ways. I enjoy thinking about how she would love to see a given place, or appreciate what a moment offers. What a blessing to know you carry her with you.
